Please
take a few moments to read the following information, if are you serious
about the Street Team please read all of the below information.
This explains in detail what the Street Team means, and how it will be
run, as well as you responsibilities if you choose to agree to help us
out.
Currently, the Senses Fail Street
Team contacts will be active in the U.S.
although we will at times need contacts elsewhere when the band is touring.
If you live somewhere other than the U.S.,
Street Team activities for now are limited.
What is the Senses
Fail Street Team responsible for?
Making sure
that promotional material, like posters advertising new releases and/or
tours, is supplied to/displayed in various sorts of shops within your
area, like independent record stores, coffee shops, skate shops, venues,
etc. We trust that you will know where the best "hangouts"
are in your area. You will need to be savvy with where you do your
"work". For example, if you live in a smaller city, hit
nearby larger city and don't neglect the vicinity of the venue (when the
posters are advertising a live show). There will also be certain
people on the Street Team that don't necessarily hit the street, for those
people emailing shows, e-cards, news, flash banners, etc will be what
you focus on, getting the word out over the internet is a very important
tool.
Making sure other promotional materials such as stickers, fliers, etc
are placed or passed out at appropriate giveaway places like record stores,
coffee shops, skate shops, shows, etc.
Making sure that the material we send you display
accurate info re: dates and venues. Most of the time, a sample poster
will be provided in the package you receive, but before you write on the
posters, or anything else please check the Senses Fail website (www.sensesfail.com)
because tour dates have a tendency to change. If for some reason
a tour date falls through in your area, please write something to the
affect of "out now" on the posters and distribute.
Keeping in touch with us periodically to inform
us of your activities and also informing us of changes in your contact
information; it would be a real bummer to get packages returned due to
change of address.
Checking your email!!! This is the way we contact you to help us out so
it is important that you check emails.
How often are you expected to help us out?
We
are not always going to be able to send out promotional material for every
single tour, event, release, etc. When we are going to mail out
packages, we email everyone and will ask a certain number of you to help.
We will utilize those that respond to our email the quickest. It's
not a contest and we are not keeping track of who's consistently the fastest
or anything like that. We simply want to give everyone a chance
to help us out. You will be informed that you've been selected,
or if we already have enough help. However those who aren't needed
for hands on work will receive updates on mailing list addresses to send
upcoming tour dates, events, release dates and general news about the
band. So everyone will help us out even if it seems like a small
job a little goes a long way. Everyone is responsible for emailing,
posting on the web (message boards etc.), calling local radio stations,
etc. However we will contact you with information to post, so that
the information is correct.
We ask that you please help for your geographic
area and that you be realistic as to what you truly think you can do to
help us out with promotional material. If you have hectic schedules,
don't offer your help for a certain mailing because we need you to be
flexible and get materials up and out there in a timely manner.
Keep in mind that you are rarely going to be the sole worker in your area,
so if you see another street teamer's work, be creative and go somewhere
else to do your work.
How do you prove you've distributed
the material?
Our
street team will be based in Sound Scan regions which is a way to track
sales of CDs, we will also determine whether or not regions are doing
there work by ticket sales at specific venues in your area. We will
require "evidence" of your work, i.e. pictures of the posters
you have hung, pictures of you handing out flyers, etc. The more
"evidence" you send to us, the more points you will receive,
and in time points help you to receive free stuff from the band in appreciation
of your help.
