Today we are in Portland, Oregon. The coolest thing about this place is that there is an arcade across the street that has games from my childhood. Games like Pole Position, Rad Racer and Arkanoid. I don’t play video games much, but lately I’ve been obsessing over 2 things: 1 - getting a Nintendo Wii for Christmas, and 2 – that deer hunting game where you get to shoot a rifle at either deer, elk, moose, or mountain goat. There’s a cool extra feature in that game where you get to shoot “critters” as they call them. These critters can be either a squirrel, maybe a rabbit, maybe even a mountain lion. When the mountain lion runs across the screen I lose all focus on the deer and try to shoot him.
A couple days ago we had a day off in Ontario, Oregon, which I believe is right on the Oregon/Idaho border. That day I started reading “Get In The Van” by Henry Rollins. Wow, what a book. Not gonna lie, I was never a huge Henry Rollins/Black Flag fan, but after reading this book I have so much more respect for him and them than I would have ever thought. Black Flag toured their asses off in conditions that bands today even at their lowest would never be able to handle. They had to deal with sketchy promoters and pigheaded cops shutting down and running their shows. Shit, he lived in a fucking shed for a good portion of 1985. Every band who considers themselves a touring band really owes them a huge debt of gratitude.
After reading most of that book, a bunch of us ventured about 50 feet from our bus to this bowling alley. We took up a couple of lanes, threw some rocks, and had a blast. Here is a picture of Dec (NFG’s sound guy), me, and Michael (NFG’s keyboard player). Dan gave the 3 of us the nickname “The Grey Shirted Lane Slayers”.
That's about it for now.

Okay, i need to tell you this. so i was watching "don't mess with the zohan" and i saw the part when he jumps in the water and his hair is wet (he's still got the fro) and i was like "holy shit it's heaths twin!" IT WAS AMAZING! JUST HAD TO TELL YOU. if you get a chance see it and you'll know what i'm talking about
#2 what? i could see the relevance in your objection... if it was true.
but trying hard here i fail to recall a single song of theirs which is about killing women. while say buried a lie is indeed about a woman being dead, the killer remains highly anynomous.

What does your band have to say about why your lyrics are about killing women? And what is that doing for the culture as a whole? I'm out here trying to stop violence against women and you get paid to sing about it.
all hail the grey shirted lane slayers!!! holla! hehe lol.
omg, you know i actually read that book that you talked about (er, i read most of it anyway) and i'm still not entirely sure whether it inspired me to hop in a van and tour the country rocking out, or to completely shy away from the whole ordeal, and anything involving vans and sheds. but it was mostly just an unbelievably amazing
story!
and also, old video games rock! i'm not a video game person ( i go only as far as pinball on the computer- that's pretty much my limit) but i absolutely love those old atari games, you know, with the handheld thing with the big dial. i rock at circus atari. anyways, have fun shooting stuff! get those mountain lions, and you guys are all amazing! love
your music! holla.
