Summer fun..Fall is coming!
09.22.07
Hey Everyone,

Well it seems as though it has been a pretty long time since someone has updated the band journal, so I figured I would give it a shot. Anywho, hope all of you had a great and eventful summer. I think all of us did. It was a pretty great feeling to actually have a summer at home for once. This is the longest break we have had since being a band, but I think it was really well deserved and much needed. If anything I think it will help us kick start back up again on the right foot.

So how did my summer go? I had lots of fun. I got to catch up with tons of friends I haven't been able to see much in the past couple of years and also got to do things I haven't been able to do much as well. I took a trip to the bahamas a while back which was a first for me. Most people that know me, know I don't tan well and i'm not a huge beach person, but the experience was great all in all. I also got to take two summer classes at Rutgers University to plug away closer to getting a degree. I still have a ways to go, but I hope to some day get there. I think as long as I plan out a way to get it done I will be able to sooner than later. Besides that we all have just been relaxing and enjoying what the summer has to offer. I myself really enjoyed just waking up to a beautiful sunny day and going for a run. Some of you may or may not know, but I decided that this winter, while we're writing our new album, I would partake in competitive ski racing again. It was once a huge passion of mine, and recent events have made me want to give it a shot one more time. So luckily having some awesome friends that still ski race, I got the hook up with a bunch of new gear. So in order to train, one of the things I have been doing is running A LOT. When I used to train, there were a lot of things to make you agile while still strong, which is key. We did a lot of weight lifting and such, but this time around i'm sticking to a lot of basic training. At this point I run anywhere from 3 to almost 10 miles a day. I've even considered trying to run in a marathon if i can work my way up close enough to like 20 miles and have time to do it. It's always just a great feeling for me to be in shape.

On the band side, as many of you may know, we have a Deluxe Edition of "Still Searching" hitting stores November 13th. We tried our best to make sure that it was worth it to any of you who were interested in picking a copy up. There are 6 extra songs on there, 2 of which are brand new that we recorded last month, 3 other b-sides from "Still Searching" and a cover of Salvation from The Cranberries. There also will be a DVD from our headlining tour on "Still Searching." It's kind of a tour documentary/life on the road kind of thing. We also have some songs coming out in some video games coming out that should be fun. I know Dance Dance Revolution has announced "Buried a Lie," but i'm not sure if we can announce the other game as we are a "secret track."

I have also been writing with my side project Knights In Paris a bunch this summer. Nick (my friend doing the project with me) and I just headed into the studio to record a couple of our first demos and are finishing up some small final touches on the mixing and mastering of the songs, and HOPEFULLY soon enough we will be able to post at least one of the songs on our myspace page for you guys to check out. I'm really excited about it.

Lastly, tour starts in 2 weeks out in Vegas. We're extremely pumped and have some surprises up our sleeves for you. It should be a really fun time. New Found Glory are a great band and great dudes and I'm really excited to do a proper tour with them, and we also have some other amazing bands out with us like The Receiving End Of Sirens (on the whole tour) and other bands including Set Your Goals, Bed Light For Blue Eyes, Dr. Manhattan, and A Cursive Memory on select dates. If you haven't picked up tickets you can at http://sensesfail.ducatking.com. After the tour we will most likely be back into writing mode recording our 3rd LP and i'd assume if everything goes well for a late summer/early fall '08 release.

hope to see you all soon,

-glita

What does your band have to say about why your lyrics are about killing women? And what is that doing for the culture as a whole? I'm out here trying to stop violence against women and you get paid to sing about it.

Hey Mike, i don't know how often you check these comments, but in case you remember I was the girl up against the guard rail in chicago at the metro (11-6-07). Just wanted to say thank you for the pic, and i really enjoyed the show. You guys rocked, as always. Please continue everything you guys do. Also i'm sorry if i lost a bit of eye contact with you, my boyfriend wasn't very happy. Sorry love, goodnight.
