International Taste of Chaos Entry #2

Hello hello,
So we just got done with the Australian leg of the Taste Of Chaos… our first time down under and I already wanna come back. Those first six shows have been the most fun we have had as a band in a long time. I just wanna thank everyone who came out to the shows and supported all the bands, you really showed us a great time. The first stop was in Perth, AU which is on the west coast of the country. We took 2 flights from Auckland over there, which took about 7 hours, so it was a full day of flying. Not to mention that there is a 5 hour time difference, so I was pretty spent at the end of that day. There is nothing weirder than extreme jet lag because you feel like you’re a zombie with no ability to comprehend time. Luckily there was a casino right next to the venue where I kept myself occupied till about 9 pm and than literally passed out. The show in Perth was fucking great. We had some trouble with our gear and monitors but other than a few minor things everything went really smooth. The next couple days were pretty crazy because in Australia the cities are pretty far away from each other, so you have to fly to every show. We had to wake up at about 6am every morning and get on a plane to go to the next city. It was even worse for the crew of the tour because they had to leave even earlier, at about 4 am, so they could get to the venue and set everything up. Adelaide was the next city, than Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, each show was just as a amazing as the next.
The best part about this tour, other than being able to travel to some incredible places is that fact that all us bands are all great friends. It might be weird for people to think that Anti-Flag and Senses Fail get down… but we fucking do. There is no line between bands. There is only the imaginary line that the fans of bands draw between them. It would be common for an Anti-Flag fan to not like a Senses Fail fan because they are not "punk rock enough" or vice versa but when it comes to traveling with and meeting bands, there is no such thing. Every band on this tour gets along in a way that most bands never do and I think that is because we all respect what each other do. Each band has something different to offer and brings such a high level of passion and intensity to their music and live show.. that just demands respect. I am just so excited to be out with people who are truly honest about their love of what they are doing and feel the importance in what they are doing because that is what is lacking in a lot of music today. There just seems to be a lot of bands that lack fire these days but not on this tour and that is something that motivates me daily to be the best person I can be, on and off stage. Once again I wanna thank all the Aussies that came out and showed us an amazing time, I promise we will be back soon. Tomorrow it's off to Japan.

I myself am a merch girl and I see it all the time. kids constantly fighting about who is more punkrock and who is more "hardcore" and it makes me laugh, especially since that seldomly happens between bands. my 5 best friends have been in a band since they were 11 and never once have denounced another band. the chemistry is amazing and I love that even as a famous recording artist, you recognize that.
(oh an btw im from Ridgewood too, my sister and I work at the duck pond! small world)

hey buddy i hope i get to see u guys on tour but i have just read ur article in revolver magazine about the religous beliefs and stuff like that and u said how ur life has been hard and i knw wht u mean and u say how can people believe in that so much well my dad was very religous and he had cancer for 3 years until he passed away and he trusted god everyday he always said god never promised smooth sailing but he does promise us a safe landing and when he was about to die he was still comited to god and i still miss my dad and it bothers me everyday i wake up and hes gone but i have realized my dad was right everything in life is going to be hard but if u stay with god u with have eternal life u got heaven or hell if u think this world sucks just imagine what hell can be like i knw this is way of the topic but i hope u get this and i doubt u will change ur beleifs from some fan like me and im sorry if i wasted ur time but i hope to c u on tour i havent seen u since bamboozle and u guys kicked ass later

i just want to say that i think its awesome the way you talk about mutial respect between all bands. the only lines that are being drawn are by the fans and its unfortunate. especially when we come out to support you and then lash out at eachother for fucked up reasons LIKE not being "punk rock enough". as fans we should support everyone equally! we all love the music so screw anyone that cant appreciate it.

well thats how it is in my town too with all the local bands. despite the difference in music genre everyone helps eachother out and tries to get local bands to succeed evn if it means lending equipment. the studios in town let ppl record cds for free and usually help out premotion wise too.. thats how it should b in the real world, all bands helping eachother out and making sure everyone is always having the best time they can have in a band.. its cool u guys make an effort to do the same..

Yeah I definatly wasnt there at that show..but your coming to Ohio in twelve days. So im about to freak the fuck out. Ive had tickets to about 4 of your shows, but I either had no ride or I got grounded. But this show I will definatly be there. And holy shit am I excited. You have no clue how amazing you guys are.
